Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our Year 6 class starting in April 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with a child on an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who is currently learning at a Year 3 curriculum level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to the child, ensuring their specific learning needs are met.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher and SEND coordinator to implement the child’s EHCP.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record the child’s progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Support the child’s social and emotional development through positive interactions and activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s education.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children on EHCPs is essential.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Year 3 curriculum and strategies to support learning at this level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
