Description
An upbeat and confident teaching assistant is required for Year 1 in an outstanding primary school in Edgbaston. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant position to start in September
This Teaching Assistant role is based in Year 1, supporting children across the curriculum, especially leading groups in Guided Reading, Writing, Maths and Phonics. You will need strong subject knowledge and experience working as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 1. This is a successful primary school with high standards so good understanding of expectations and rates of progress in Key Stage 1 is essential.
You will be expected to have good presence in the classroom and be able to manage behaviour effectively, alongside the class teacher. You will need good communication skills and a helpful can-do attitude. All Teaching Assistants in school support children with additional needs so good understanding and experience of working 1:1 with children with SEN would be ideal.
In addition, you must have:
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Professional references covering 2 full years
- TA experience in a UK primary school
All rates are inclusive of holiday pay
