CERT Solutions are searching for multiple special education needs (SEN) teaching assistants to support schools in and around Aston.
Working 1:1 and in small groups of children who have autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour, the ideal candidates will experience working in similar roles within mainstream and SEN school settings.
There are both full and part time roles available starting in January 2025.
To be considered for these roles you must have:
- Minimum UK Level 2 in a relevant field (such as TA or health and social care)
- Minimum 6 months experience working within a UK school setting or significant SEN experience within the UK
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering educational programmes tailored for children with special educational needs.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with autism, ensuring they are engaged and able to participate fully in classroom activities.
- Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions and communication.
- Support the development of social skills through structured activities and play.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
Requirements
- Minimum UK Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to educate and engage children through creative teaching methods tailored to their individual learning styles.
- Patience and empathy when dealing with challenging behaviours or emotional situations.
