Description
CERT Solutions are working with a primary school in the Hockley area of Birmingham where an opportunity has opened up for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. The role would involve working 1:1 with a girl who has autism and is currently in Year 2.
The school have specified that the ideal candidate must have SEN school experience or extensive experience within mainstream primary school resource bases. This is essential and any candidates without this experience will not be considered unfortunately.
This role is to start after February half term and would be long term for the right candidate.
Requirements
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with autism, tailoring strategies to meet her individual needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCO to deliver and adapt educational activities that promote learning and engagement.
- Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioral development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor progress and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met consistently.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children with autism or SEN (essential).
- Level 2 or 3 UK Qualification
- A nurturing approach, with the ability to build rapport and provide tailored support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the school staff and parents.
