CERT Solutions are working with a number of secondary schools across the West Midlands who require daily cover staff. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for flexible daily cover without the added responsibility of marking and planning lessons.
About the role
You’d be required to cover lessons already planned by a class teacher, ensuring students complete work whilst maintaining good classroom management, adhering to health and safety and safeguarding procedures set by the school. You may be asked to cover a range of subjects throughout the day or if you’d prefer, we can offer you roles that are your subject specialism only!
Pay:
Pay for general cover can vary based on qualification and experience. Here are a list of pay scales to give you an example:
Qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS: £160 – £200 Per Day
Instructors/Tutors with teaching experience: £120-£140 Per Day
Cover Supervisors – Degree Qualified: £100 – £120 Per Day

What you’ll Do:
- Cover Secondary school lessons on a day to day basis
- Supportive classroom environment that encourages students to thrive academically and personally.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to contribute to the school’s vibrant academic community.
- Be a mentor and guide for students, nurturing their curiosity and love for mathematics.
Requirements:
- A recognized teaching qualification (Bachelor’s in Education, PGCE, or QTS or QTLS).
- Atleast 6 months education experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a drive to continually improve teaching practices.
