About the Role: As a French teacher within a secondary school, you will play a crucial role in inspiring students to develop their language skills and cultural understanding. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons that cater to a range of abilities. Your role will include:

  • Teaching French Language and Culture: Deliver engaging lessons that cover vocabulary, grammar, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, while also introducing students to French-speaking cultures.
  • Curriculum Planning and Assessment: Develop lesson plans that align with the curriculum, assess student progress through regular tests and feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Creating a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages students to participate, ask questions, and build their confidence in using a new language.
  • Supporting Student Development: Identify areas where students need extra support, provide additional resources, and communicate progress with parents and colleagues.
  • Inspiring a Love of Languages: Use creative and interactive teaching methods, including multimedia resources, group work, and real-life applications, to make learning French fun and relevant.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching French at the secondary school level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A passion for languages and a desire to inspire young learners.
