CERT Solutions is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for a Food Technology teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools, starting from January 2025!
The Role: As a Food Technology teacher, you’ll play a key role in engaging students with the practical and theoretical aspects of food and nutrition. You will teach students essential cooking techniques, food science, nutrition, and meal planning, all while fostering a positive, hands-on learning environment.
Location : Secondary School based in Stourbridge
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology, suitable for students of all abilities across KS3 and KS4 (ages 11-16).
- Promote Practical Skills: Inspire students to develop essential cooking and food preparation skills, hygiene practices, and an understanding of health and nutrition.
- Support Creativity and Teamwork: Encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity in the kitchen, while helping students develop confidence in their cooking abilities.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assess students’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide students toward achieving their potential.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, safe, and positive classroom environment where students can learn effectively.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the department to create and adapt curriculum materials to meet curriculum standards and enhance the Food Technology program.
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified Food Technology teacher (QTS preferred) with experience teaching at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of food science, nutrition, and hygiene practices.
- Excellent classroom management skills and a passion for teaching.
- Ability to start immediately and adapt quickly to new school environments.
