CERT Solutions are a family run 5* education agency that specialise in flexible day cover, short/long term roles, as well as fixed term contracts and permanent positions within schools!
We are working on behalf of special school local to Erdington who are looking for a full time long term Behaviour/Pastoral Mentor to join the team.
You would be working with students with ASD aged 11-19 years old in the school and would also be responsible for covering some of the on-call rota within the department.
To be considered you must have relevant SEND experience, ideally with autism (ASD), and a suitable qualification (mentor/TA/youth work/education).
Pay would be around £120-£150 per day whilst working via agency, where you will be in control over what long term assignments you accept.
The successful candidate will essentially have:
- Some experience working with SEND (specifically ASD)
- A passion for supporting students who display behavioural problems
- A suitable qualification in relation to working with young people
- Clear DBS on the update service required (If not, a DBS can be processed for a fee)
- 2 references that cover the past two years (additional refs can also be used to cover gaps)
Your responsibilities will be:
- To provide positive behaviour management and social development of students
- To cover some of the on call rota as a part of your job role
- To work in partnership with parents and carers in supporting the education of their children
- To be an excellent role model for the young people you will be working with
- Ensuring the safeguarding of pupils always
