CERT Solutions are working with a lovely nursery school in Perry Barr, who are searching for SENCO to join their team after the February half term.
The small school have said they require an experienced SENCO, who possesses QTS and is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate must be someone who is committed to working closely with the existing team to continue delivering excellent SEND support.
Position Details:
- Role: Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)
- Location: Perry Barr, Birmingham
- Days: Part-time, 1-2 days per week
- Start Date: February 2025
- Duration: Long-term, with potential for a permanent position for the right candidate
- Salary: Dependent upon experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the school’s SEND register, which currently includes 12 students with various needs, but mainly speech and language.
- Supporting and implementing Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) in collaboration with a well-established Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Providing guidance and leadership to staff regarding SEND practices.
- Working closely with the existing part-time SENCO to ensure smooth transitions and continuous support for students.
- Liaising with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for students with additional needs
Requirements:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Be a qualified SENCO, with the National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent).
- Have proven experience in a SENCO role or a similar leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of SEND codes of practice and experience implementing EHCPs.
