Our educational agency is currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated History Teacher to join our team, with an exciting full-time position available at a secondary school, starting immediately.

Position: History Teacher (Full-time)

  • Location: South Birmingham
  • Contract: 5 days per week
  • Start Date: ASAP

The Role:

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that connect historical events to the modern world. You will play a crucial role in developing students’ understanding of past societies, cultures, and political systems, helping them to develop key skills such as analysis, argumentation, and independent thought. Your lessons will cover a wide range of topics, from ancient civilizations to contemporary history, following the national curriculum guidelines.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver lessons that are tailored to a diverse range of learning abilities.
  • Foster a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, engage with historical sources, and develop their own interpretations.
  • Assess and monitor progress, providing regular feedback to students and supporting their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and participate in school activities, including parents’ evenings and extra-curricular events.
  • Inspire students to understand the relevance of history in today’s world, promoting critical thinking and empathy.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • A degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching History at the secondary school level (Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 preferred).
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A genuine passion for history and education.
