About the Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play a vital role in the education and development of students, encouraging them to explore the world of food, nutrition, and cooking. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Engaging Lessons: Planning and delivering dynamic lessons that cater to the needs of students of varying abilities, focusing on practical cooking skills, food safety, and nutrition education.
- Developing Skills: Helping students develop essential life skills, including meal planning, budgeting, food preparation, and understanding healthy eating.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and supporting students to achieve their best.
- Maintaining a Safe Environment: Ensuring a safe, clean, and well-organized classroom and kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Inspiring Creativity: Encouraging creativity and enthusiasm in students, fostering a love for cooking and healthy eating habits.
- Collaboration: Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the food technology curriculum and contribute to the school’s broader educational goals.
About You:
We are looking for a passionate and qualified Food Technology Teacher who can bring creativity and enthusiasm to the classroom. The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary school level.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A genuine passion for food education and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits.
