Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a strong, committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision school in Quinton, Birmingham. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support due to their SEMH needs. Your role will be crucial in helping them achieve their full potential and ensuring they receive the care and guidance they need.
Key Responsibilities:
– Support students with SEMH needs in their academic and personal development.
– Implement effective behavior management strategies.
– Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
– Provide one-on-one support and small-group interventions.
– Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
– Proven experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviors.
– Strong understanding of SEMH and the strategies to support it.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude.
– Relevant qualifications or training in education, or a related field
