CERT Solutions are looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with autism at lovely primary school in Selly Oak. The successful candidate will provide individualised support to help the child thrive both academically and socially within the classroom setting.
This full time role, starting in September 2024, is a great opportunity for an individual with a background of supporting children with SEN, specifically Autism Spectrum Conditions. The school ideally would like someone with a background working within SEN schools or resources bases within mainstream primary schools, but would consider someone with extensive history of SEN support of another nature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer tailored support and encouragement to the child.
- Implement strategies to manage and improve behavior.
- Assist in developing the child’s social skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to create and adapt learning materials.
- Monitor and report on the child’s progress.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant Level 3 or above qualifications.
